CESIO represents a major European industry, with more than 40 member companies producing over 3 million tonnes of surfactants annually, most of which are used within the EU.

Surfactants have numerous indispensable uses and are important in our lives in many ways. Most of us know them from their use in our daily washing and cleaning products; either through personal cleansing, or cleaning our clothes or our homes - contributing to the health and wellbeing of millions of people around the world. However, surfactants also play vital roles in industrial applications such as in the manufacture of textiles, paints and metal articles and in the production of oil and gas.

CESIO has the responsibility of helping its members to supply surfactants and intermediates to the market which are effective, safe and sustainable by continually working with suppliers, customers and regulators on numerous topics.
